Maurizio Cattelan’s “All” at the Guggenheim

“All” is an audaciously stupendous “retrospective” of Cattelan’s iconic, disturbing sculptures. A slow stroll down the Guggenheim ramp is a mesmerizing experience as the objects appear, change, disappear and reappear. Do not miss it. Here’s a sampler.

The show is at The Guggenheim NYC until 22 January.

Mixed Media Collage – Three Day Workshop

Day one of this exciting workshop conducted by mixed media artist Lynn Gall is a full day of paper painting and decorating using various techniques, some of which were developed by Lynn. The techniques include resists, rubbings, paste, laminating and much more. You will create a stash of stunning, one-of-a-kind papers.

Day two and three will be devoted to using these papers in a mixed media piece by supplementing them with paints, inks, and other found papers and media of your choice.

Examples and instructions, including handouts, will provide a framework to begin. From there students are encouraged and given specific advice on how to proceed and complete a work. This is your chance to try new colors, new techniques, take risks and see what happens.

These three days are a great introduction to mixed media for beginners as well as providing studio time and critiques for experienced students.

Regardless of experience, you will leave with some new ideas, new techniques and inspiration for creating on your own.

The workshop will be held January 27-29 at the Farmington Valley Art Center in Avon, CT. For more information go to
